This Fall session will be the kick-off of a 3-year series of gatherings.
As acknowledged hungry ghosts, we will practice learning how to answer our spiritual questions in the lowest of ways, without trying to transcend our experience.
Over the course of 3 years, we will work in feeding ourselves and others with that which is most nourishing and in learning how to recognize the various realms that we project onto our natural awareness.
Special practice emphasis will include lojong ("mind training"), maranasati (awareness of death), tonglen ("sending and receiving"), Brahma Viharas ("heavenly abodes"), and vipassana, all with the aim of individualizing our approaches and directly applying our practices in all aspects of our lives.
In the last portion of the 3 years, we will give up all "working" and will instead practice resting in non-duality, and at this point we may choose to explore the ways in which the practice of mahamudra can inform vipassana, if not earlier in the series of meetings.
As the group forms, we will discuss various ways in which the exact menu may be co-determined by all participants.
