Deep Spring Center Retreats - 2012

Spring Vipassana Basics Retreat

Date: March 16 - 18, 2012

Where: Rudolf Steiner House at 1923 Geddes Ave., Ann Arbor, MI  48104

Teachers: Dorothy Ann Coyne and Frank Levey

Level: All Levels - especially for first-time retreatants, beginners and anyone wanting the basics

Cost: $190 for residential private rooms or $165 for residential shared room (bed linens and towels provided); $140 for commuters. $20 discount if registration is paid in full by February 17.

Those commuting must attend all sessions (Friday evening through Sunday
afternoon), except for the early morning sittings.

The core of our being, our buddha nature, is spontaneously wise, compassionate, joyous and loving. But as we experience the chaos that is our everyday life, the state of some of our relationships, and that pervasive feeling of discontent, it is hard to even fleetingly recognized our buddha nature. So many of these feelings that plague us arise from the desire for things to be different from the way they are. In this retreat we will explore how to let go of that desire and how wisdom and compassion naturally arise when we can be present with what is.

This is a beginner's retreat, but all are welcome. Meditation instruction will be provided. The retreat will include guided sittings, walking meditation, Dharma talks, and interviews. This retreat will be held in silence except for interviews and group Q & A sessions. Our venue is small so registration is limited. There are several residential accommodations available but you can commute each day if you prefer.

If you let go completely, you will have complete peace and freedom and your struggles with the world will come to an end. - Ajahn Chah
