Courses, Retreats, and Events

Ongoing classes and retreats are offered to support learning meditation, spiritual growth, and awareness. Different classes may focus on different pathways and heart-centered practices. Our core focus for all classes and retreats is deepening liberation and opening to an end to suffering for each participant and for all sentient beings. Aaron, and occasionally other Entities, may speak during a class or retreat, with the intention to guide and deepen meditation.

Teacher questions may be addressed to Barbara Brodsky at [email protected] and to John Orr at [email protected]

Introduction by Aaron

Aaron-Image-chosen-by-Aaron-and-Barbara_square-web

While it may at first appear that each of the class offerings focus on a unique subject, they are all headed in the same direction and serve the same purpose. Think of them as ingredients which, when put together, produce an encompassing experience of the Bodhisattva awakening and the Bodhisattva way of life. This is the Wholeness that The Mother refers to in her Remembering Wholeness attentions.

The set of classes serve as elements of further initiation into the human experience as a conscious being. Imagine exploring the incarnate experience with delight and collaboration, rather than competition, fear, and suffering. Imagine how it would be if everyone on this planet had incarnated into a Bodhisattva society and if every child were raised in a Bodhisattva family. Here is an opportunity to learn how to live without suffering, to live with awakening happiness.

Participate As Much As You Can

We perceive that all four classes of this program are vital. And we understand that everyone may not be able to enroll in all of the classes. Please participate in as much as you are able to with ease, and to whatever degree that you feel you are able to responsibly carry. Through the small group discussions, available recordings and transcripts, and in occasional gatherings of all the classes, there will be a chance to catch the essence of what is happening in the other parts.

That said, I am hoping that many people will be able to give themselves four evenings each month to this program: one evening to Mediumship and Eden classes; one evening to Dharma Path class; and two evenings to Meditation Class. All classes will be recorded and available to all participants.

Learning to Live from the Awakened Heart

New Students are Welcome to Deep Spring Center programs!

Participate via Zoom from anywhere in the World

Those interested in receiving an introduction to Deep Spring Center teachings and practices with an eye toward being prepared for The Eden Project or other advanced courses are invited to apply to join our new three-month program, Learning to Live from the Awakened Heart.

Those who are interested in applying to register in The Eden project but have not participated in any advanced Deep Spring Center programs are asked to complete the the New Student Application as well.

Registration and Enrollment Information

The Eden Project contains four interrelated classes. A single donation registers you as a full program participant. Upon registration, you may enroll in all four classes or any selection of them. Enrollment in a given class is a commitment to attend all sessions of the class during the semester. Aaron encourages participants to enroll in, and attend all classes, but if necessary, one may enroll selectively.

In addition to the class or classes specifically enrolled in, participants will enjoy the benefits of learning from all the classes through the audio resources and by occasionally auditing (sitting in on) classes throughout the 9-month program.

Registration Donation for the 9-month program: $383 low ask – $766 high ask

The Eden Project program includes:

  • Mediumship Class
  • Eden Class
  • Dharma Path Class
  • Meditation Class
  • Small group meetings without leader (no additional charge)

The registration donation does not include Evenings with Aaron or The Eden Project Workshops (December & June), which will be scheduled separately.

Payment Arrangements

  • Full year: $383 – $766

By semester (slightly higher to pay for additional processing):

  • Fall (13 class meetings): $150 – $300
  • Winter/Spring (21 class meetings): $254 – $508

When registering for the program, donate what you are able. Deep Spring Center can only continue providing programs and services if sufficient donation volume is maintained. If, however, you are unable to make the minimum donation, contact the DSC office ([email protected]) and arrangements will be made that work for you. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Auditing Classes

If you wish to attend a class for which you have not enrolled, it is possible to audit the class for one or more sessions. However, non-enrolled class attendees are asked to refrain from participating in the conversation or asking questions, as those topics may have been addressed in previous sessions. Audios and perhaps transcripts of all classes will be available for all program participants, making it possible for you to learn through the workings in every class according to your own personal schedule and inclination.

Dana Donations for the Teachers

Our teachers receive no financial compensation from Deep Spring Center. The registration donations fund the operation of the organization and all of its program production. Your heart-felt dana donations to each teacher is a much-appreciated expression of gratitude and support for them. Offer dana to Deep Spring Center teachers.

Part One | Mediumship

Please think of the earth’s ground in the spring. You turn and aerate the soil. Perhaps you add some nutrients to the soil, and then you plant your seeds. The seeds cannot grow without the earth, the literal ground, which contains the warmth of the sun, the moisture of the rain, the nutrients of the soil, and the love that is poured into it. Earth does not hold onto these gifts and say, “This is for me.” It knows that everything that’s poured into it is there to be re-offered outward, to serve as a ground for all else; that which grows from it. That growth, in turn, will die back in the autumn, and enrich the earth again.

The first aspect of mediumship is to allow each of us to know ourselves as the ground.

Everything is interconnected — what comes in and what goes out. As long as there is an ego believing, “I am doing this. I am doing that. Oh, look at me — this entity is present with me,” one cannot be a clear medium.

To offer a second example: a chef wishing to create a meal, comes into the kitchen and says, “Now I am going to make the most wonderful soup! Look — I found the best vegetables! People will love me for the soup I’ve made!” Another chef has been to the market and collected beautiful vegetables and chicken or whatever else might be involved. He/she praises each ingredient, offering gratitude to each for contributing to create the soup as a co-creative process, with the chef seeing the soup as a service to the diners. Each chef makes what appears to be a similar soup. However, the chef who is connected as a participant with everything involved, and is doing this preparation devoid of ego, offers a soup with a different kind of energy.

To be a medium is to know one’s interconnection with everything, and to begin with the intention for the highest service to all beings, including the self in that circle of love but not separating the self. Only with this deep knowing of inter-being with All That Is and the highest intention for loving service, can one truly connect to anything, be it the ingredients of the soup, be it the plants growing from the ground, or be it the spirit entities that may wish to speak through one.

It is likely that some participants will get to channeling in the class by spring, but this is not what is meant by mediumship. Channeling is one possible outflow of mediumship. In this class we will be training you how to be mediums in your life, in the truest sense.

The class will involve learning to connect to everything, both through formal meditation and through times of sitting; just hugging a tree and becoming the tree; holding a friend’s hands and looking into each other’s eyes and being each other; experiencing your higher Self and other spirit energy. Most importantly, you will be looking at any intentions toward self-service that exclude others and hold fear, and learn to ground those intentions with love so they can begin to dissolve.

Finally, by more deeply knowing your inter-being with all, you will be attending to any fear that the self will dissolve, fear that you will in some way annihilate yourself as you become a medium. You are everywhere! Let us celebrate this fact.

As part of this work, we will learn to connect with our own higher self, and perhaps will connect with our own primary spirit guides.

In the first semester, this will be some of our focus. With this foundation in place, we will take it further in the second semester.

Part Two | Eden Class

Tuesdays, 7:30pm ⎯ 9:00pm Eastern

Beginning with the Mediumship Class, we have prepared the soil for things to be planted and to grow. With the Eden Class, we have to understand what we wish to have grow. What is this Eden we contemplate? You may think of the biblical Garden of Eden, or of Heaven realms, or of the Unconditioned, the Dharmakaya.

You come from Eden, and you will return to Eden. You move through the process of experiencing the densities as you move through and back to eighth density, experiencing all levels of consciousness.  Ultimately, you will recognize that you have never left Eden. Upon imagining that you had left Eden, you opened into the experience of the separated self with its free will. Clarification of that separated self, releasing that which is only in service to self and built on a framework of fear, is where you are now; opening to that which is loving, which is Love. Here you see where meditation is so essential!

The Eden Class is not a matter of going somewhere; it is a matter of opening to this awakening earth from the perspective of the true self, and supporting that awakened consciousness in everything. I believe you can see how the mediumship connects with this awakened consciousness.

There’s a beautiful old spiritual and civil rights song, “Keep your eyes on the prize, hold on … . Hold on, hold on, keep your eyes on the prize, hold on … .” Wonderful, but what is the prize? The Eden Project will support each being’s coming to know what it truly understands as the prize: the prize of a high consciousness universe, grounded in love, in which every being is free, is supported, is cherished.

In the Eden Class, we will be deepening our understanding of what Eden is. How can you co-create something if you can’t visualize it?

We will be looking at any obstacles, each in our own person; just the simple things. To what degree are you willing to share so that every being on this planet is fed? Does your mind immediately jump to the idea, “Well, I can give a lot of my food to others, and yes, I’ll be a little hungry.” Why should anybody be hungry? The Eden Project recognizes that there is enough for everybody. How do we co-create a world where there is an abundance of caring, of nourishing, of love, and where we have released what blocks that abundance?

How do we co-create a world, and really a universe, in which, when we say, “Namaste,” there is full understanding of that word? “The divine in me greets the divine in you.” The beginning of The Eden Project class will focus on helping to release the personal blockages to knowing and cherishing the divine in everything. That is the fear: “Perhaps I won’t be enough or have enough. Perhaps I will lose something.”

As we move deeper into The Eden Project, the Eden Class will be merging to some degree with Mediumship Class material. How do we, as a group, as a world, hold this high energy? How do we speak to fear, hatred, greed, and violence from the place of deepest truth in our hearts? In essence, what would it feel and look like to live on a 4th/5th density earth? And in what ways might I not be fully ready for that?

I have mentioned in the past that as 4th density beings, all will be telepathic. This is one place where we may start; half an hour of sharing followed with some time of silence. If everybody in this circle were telepathic, are there any thoughts I have had of which I would feel ashamed?

This ties us into the Vipassana Class and practice, watching the arising of feelings of shame, of wrongness. We will more fully develop the ability to acknowledge that the ego is a part of human experience. We are not trying to cut out the ego, only choosing (free will) not to get caught in the ego’s stories. Likewise, we are not trying to cut out or ignore the physical body, but instead practicing to not be caught up in its stories.

We will thus be practicing what it feels like being a 4th density being, what may block our fullest emergence as such, and how to take care of those blockages.

Part Three | Dharma Path Class

In this class, we will bring in various support practices that you will work with as homework and share how your process is going as you work together in the small group meetings. We will be moving further into the path of sacred darkness and into the non-duality of light and darkness. In deepening in our ability to move out of duality and live in non-duality, we are more fully preparing ourselves to be clear mediums and to co-create Eden.  We are more fully preparing ourselves to live a lifestyle deeply committed to service to all beings and harm to none.

In this year of Dharma Path class, we will be honing tools for Part One, Mediumship skills, and Part Two, Eden Class awareness, and also going further into the direct experience of the Unconditioned. Meditation will be one vital tool. We cannot fully live from that Sambhogakaya bridge until we truly can know and acknowledge the Dharmakaya in which we rest.

In Dharma Path Class, I want to go into the experience of non-duality because I think it is a necessary foundation for the co-creation of Eden. I will work with John on this in the Vipassana class also—the direct experience of the awakened self, and beginning to trust this awakened self. Some of the practices in Dharma Path will be headed toward this end.

Vipassana

Part Four | Meditation Class: Vipassana and Pure Awareness

Wednesdays, 7:00 pm ⎯ 9:00 pm Eastern

The meditation class for the 9-month Eden Project meets twice monthly on Wednesday evenings, from 7:00 – 9:00 pm Eastern. The focus will be on deepening of Vipassana (Insight Meditation) and Pure Awareness. With your registration in the Eden Project, you are entitled to enroll in the Meditation module along with the other Eden Project modules or just on its own.

This class is for practitioners who already have the basics of Insight meditation and have the ability to be mindful in daily life situations. There will be a combination of instruction, silent sitting, and discussion of topics such as dependent origination and the arising of ego self, karma, working skillfully with habitual patterns of mind, and finding balance on the bridge between relative and ultimate reality. We will encourage and reinforce developing and sustaining a daily formal meditation practice.

As our practice deepens, we naturally become aware of the dharmakaya (truth body) and the ability to rest more fully in our true nature. Pure Awareness meditation is a wonderful way to identify and rest in our pure mind. It is the doorway to the unconditioned and, along with Vipassana, helps us find the balance between form and formless, the conditioned and unconditioned aspects of our being. In truth, there is no separation between the two. They are non-dual.

Non-duality will be a central focus throughout the Eden Project. The practices of Vipassana and Pure Awareness together become one meditation that enables us to have an experiential understanding of non-duality. This practice will help us in the Eden and Mediumship modules, as well as in the Dharma Path class, as we further explore the non-duality of sacred light and darkness.

Included in our meditation program will be heart-centered practices, which give us access to our open loving hearts, and chanting, which brings energy and joy. If you have any questions about the course or whether it is appropriate for you, contact John at [email protected].

Evenings with Aaron

Monthly on Tuesdays at 7pm

One evening each month in Evenings with Aaron, I will be addressing both the participants of The Eden Project classes and those who are not enrolled in that series. Unlike the previous years’ Aaron evenings, where I often simply spoke about a timely topic, my focus this year will be weaving the components of TEP together: the Dharma Path, Eden & Mediumship, and Vipassana and how we manifest these in daily life. It is my intention that this will help people to better understand what we have worked with that month, and how it holds together for them in today’s world, bringing in elements of practice and weaving it into the everyday world. All are welcome. You need not be in The Eden Project classes to find value in these talks.

I cannot say that one part is more important than any other. If people ask me, “I can come only one night a month—which night shall I attend?” my response is that these are four parts of a braid, so the answer to that question would be to enroll in what feels most relevant to you.

Remembering-Wholeness-4

Aaron and The Mother

One Sunday a month from 2:00 – 5:00 pm Eastern

The Mother will be participating. I will let her speak to this here as we plan this together on Mother’s Day, 2021.

The Mother: My love to you all. I am The Mother.

A mother is one who gives birth to, supports, and cherishes, and then releases out into the universe, with love, always ready to hold and support.

You will have noticed that last (April 2021) Remembering Wholeness I did speak to individuals, offering individual darshan, and there was that energy exchange. But I also spoke more to the whole group.

In Remembering Wholeness as we continue, I will be offering from my own understanding, and also as supported by Aaron and Yeshua, the personal and the group messages that can most support the program participants. These are the places where people are a little bit stuck; the places where that stickiness will be helped to release by gently revealing itself when held deeply with love. I will speak more to the whole gathered group than in past years. People are able to hear what resonates for each one. Always, my unconditional love for each being will be the container.

Path to Awakened Heart_web

Path to the Awakened Heart: The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali

Thursdays, 7:00 – 8:30 pm Eastern

This class will explore the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, an ancient text that is a guidebook for walking almost any spiritual, non-dual path. We will consider the Sutras from the point of view of Tantric Yoga, particularly the North Indian school of Kashmir Shaivism. This non-dual school emphasizes śakti, the divine energy of the Absolute that creates our universe and forms the basis of the streams of our Awareness. Along with studying the text, we will practice tantric forms of meditation to help us understand the sutras.

The class will be both theoretical and practical, providing a slightly different point of view from the Buddhist teachings presented by Aaron, Barbara, and John. Robert hopes that viewing your practice from a different perspective will help you understand your path more fully, as it did for him.

Applying Vipassana in Daily Life and Seeing Its Progression Along the Path

Teacher: Celeste Zygmont

This class is designed for those who are dedicated to deepening their experience of the Dharma and moving further along the path. The class will be largely experiential, informed by Celeste’s nearly 30 years of Vipassana study and practice under Aaron and Barbara.

Vipassana means “clear seeing,” and its practice helps us develop the skill of focus or concentration. In this class, we will use our increasing focus and spaciousness to deepen our ability in the moment to know our experience.

We will explore the active moment and beyond. We will begin to more clearly see the self-identification with our karmic arisings and what comes together to form a moment. We will watch the sense of solid self as it begins to weaken and the resultant awakening to Presence, discerning mundane from supramundane consciousness.

As part of a path of service, we will learn to investigate and transmute objects of mind right then and there in any conscious wakeful moment. Sacred darkness will more clearly be seen as nondual expression, and our true nature as spaciousness and Light will begin to come into view.

Private Counseling

We do not do “readings” in the conventional sense. Aaron does not predict the future or tell you what to do. The choices are yours. Most people who meet with us are ongoing meditation students or have met us at retreats and workshops. We meet in person, by phone, or via Zoom. Aaron does what we call “spiritual counseling,” helping people to better understand their life issues and how to experience them as catalyst for growth. He will never tell people what they should do; he just helps them to understand the spiritual basis for the issues or confusion.

With this in mind, we often work with ongoing students with whom we may meet once or twice a month or two or three times a year. Many of these people are either in classes, or attend meditation retreats and workshops with Barbara. We will occasionally meet for a one-time meeting with someone who has sincere questions and willingness and inner resources to work on themselves.

If you wish such a meeting, please email Barbara at [email protected] with some background about your spiritual and meditation practice, your present situation, and how you feel we may be of help. This does not guarantee a meeting. Please visit explore the channeled material and extensive archives for more information. You can type in a term such as “depression,” “grief,” “wanderer,” “free will,” or whatever you seek and choose from many talks Aaron has given on the topic. You can also check out transcripts from classes or workshops and the books.

Such meetings last around an hour (though Aaron doesn’t work by the clock) and are offered on a sliding scale fee. As many have asked for a guideline, suggested donations are $100, $200, and $300 according to one’s ability to pay.

Meditation coaching sessions are with Barbara unless Aaron has a specific suggestion about your practice. This meeting is focused on deepening your meditation practice. Of course, life issues touch our practice, but in meditation coaching sessions, we don’t go into past lives or consider life issues in depth but work on how to work with such issues in meditation. The meeting will last about a half hour and is offered completely on a dana (free-will donation) basis.
